How can ICAD improve the quality of the science in auditory display research?

This is an issue that is raised consistently at ICAD conferences.

I contend that we need to ensure, where possible, that experiments are reported in enough detail for them to be able to be independently verified. This may include ensuring that:

These thoughts began, and contain, the possibility of forming a Sonification Software Special Interest Group (SS-SIG) whose initial role could be to develop a set of guidelines for the description, design and adoption of software processes and procedures.

It may go on to develop procedures in various languages to for the general use of the communiy.
